Tokyo ghoul Ryo let's say season 3 has started and I know I'm not the only one that is quite confused regarding that direction the anime has taken so be honest I didn't even realize from the first 10 minutes that ken kaneki is the dude in the ghoul force maybe because I skipped the intro music which clearly displays kaneki inside his mind and this is why I skip anime openings for certain shows because this contains way too much spoilers of what's going to happen and Tokyo ghoul Ahri is a copper of this mistake it gives away so much clues on what is going to happen to viewers that it ruins the surprises the way the manga was written and intended for full readers kaneki seems to have a complete personality change and I asked a few people that also watched Tokyo ghoul and it didn't even realise what's the link to Saki - so I'm thankfully not the only one in this boat I guess I didn't pick up on the animation and the character signals in the first episode of the anime which rocked it off to a bad start for me Tokyo ghoul obviously angered a lot of manga readers because it's not giving justice to the source material however Tokyo ghoul read the 3rd season seems to be adapting the manga pretty well and on point but yeah let's cue the intro and get this slide [Music] okay since a lot of people have not read the Tokyo ghoul manga and might be anime Watchers only they may be confused or not knowing where the grounds of the anime was to be expected I mean the storytelling has not been great at all for non manga readers since my friend that runs this channel with me has read the manga and knows the complete story to do with Tokyo ghoul I've been filled in on what we should all know going into season three of Tokyo ghoul three and what we all should know for the anime to make sense and be on the same page I was hoping that anime did a quick recap initially of what has happened in the past I think this is a quite stupid decision or choice by the studios we know that they have stopped to by not clearly letting viewers know that season two was irrelevant like before the new season even starts we are not given any context at all of what we should know from the previous season as in knowledge we should retain what characters were doing before and what are they doing now basic information you should give your audience before establishing a new anime season that has a new setting with new characters we have not seen before taking most of the airtime Tokyo ghoul hasn't been on air or relevant in a few years - most anime watchers only so what I'm saying is some people are obviously disappointed now that is out of the way let's talk about what we should know for Tokyo ghoul season free to make sense and more enjoyable to watch so we get into season free with the introduction of many new characters and it's really fast-paced covering 5 to 6 manga chapters with ease in 20 minutes we are introduced to a special class Google investigator Sasaki Heisei and instantly we the audience are left clueless and confused on what's happening and where is Carnegie and while the following why are we following Sasaki who is a CCG agent this gives us no choice but to speculate and watch videos like this or read up on the manga however the way that Tokyo ghoul Ari was introduced might not be so bad after all this method of starting a story leaving the audience utter confusion isn't all that new and this method is actually used a lot by movie directors for example for instance Christopher Nolan's movie memento is a great example of this and another movie which follows a similar direction is Fight Club one of the greatest movies of all time so essentially this is what how the manga portrays this storytelling - maybe the anime hasn't captured this at all it's up to your guy's opinion let me know in the comment section below so essentially if they didn't mess up the manga adaptation of the anime for season 2 then anime only watches could have felt the twists and turns just like manga readers and enjoy the show a lot more there might be some spoilers here and there from now on in this video like heavy ones so just be aware okay some I myself you know I'm not definitely into the Tokyo manga as much as other shows and again use of being the one knowing everything about Tokyo ghoul I didn't know Tokyo guru a is not canon this is what led to my confusion watching season 3 which is free because technically speaking Tokyo ghoul read that his airing is now season 2 and 100% Canon the first episode or two have already covered six chapters as I said which is why everyone is super happy with the adaptation but we're left confused so everything we know about Tokyo ghoul route a which is season 2 of Tokyo ghoul about the characters and what happened to them you need to delete that from your memory because none of that happens in the original manga and it's not part of the overall tone kugels story and when I found this out I was pissed because I watched all of it and enjoyed parts of it and I thought I was watching something that was canon and part of cronikeys story and he left me utterly confused it's ending was left on a cliffhanger and so starting season 3 I was more than muddled in what the story actually is but yeah Tokyo ghoul season 2 aka route a is not canon ignoring there is probably only 20% of it that isn't filler like the fight sequences and the fight between Carnegie and ARIMA at the end which kind of leads to brie but this just leads to confusion so it's better just to ignore all of that so what we actually need to know since season 1 of Tokyo ghoul diverged slightly from the manga season two is redundant of these story elements Tokyo GUI is an adaptation of the sequel manga of the same name season 1 of Tokyo ghoul adapted the first 60 to 67 chapters or so of the original manga but it made some changes and cut content that's relevant later in the story such as Jason and Carnegie's torture scene being heavily censored it's actually occurred for 10 days in the manga and so on and so forth but Tokyo ghoul sensitive Tokyo ghoul the original manga and the first part of adopted the habit of cracking his fingers from his torturer Jason and in his subconscious kaneki ariza and the image of his ghoul self this displayed that he accepted the ghoul with him instead of being influenced by he appeared to have become the one to surpass it Kenickie became ruthless and brutal in order to protect his friends yet he managed to maintain complete composure he no longer feared his ghoul side and was more violent during battles and people started to notice that in the manga so the things that can display this is when he cannibalize your Mori's kagune in order to strengthen himself and another thing people noticed when he mercilessly broke 100 free of your toes bones so by embracing his ghoul nature wholeheartedly kaneki gave up on technically being human now in the manga kaneki was still capable of showing his soft nature in front of the people he actually cared about but instantly he turned merciless against his enemies and his friends noticed that and other characters he yearned for strength and power so therefore he became more arrogant as a person and he kind of becomes like Jason he changes the way he talks and fights and everything Carnegie does not join algorri in the manga he creates his own group consisting of Sookie yarmulkes Oishi and hanami to fire Oguri obviously I pronounce everything wrong apparently and my Japanese is piss-poor as I said but moving forward colicky invades dr. Connors lab in the manga and he learns that RZA is still alive and was being news to create half ghouls Renji yomo shows up and rescues her after raiding Kano's lab and attacking Kazuki kaneki reverted back to his pre our Giri personality he entered a period of soul-searching he wished to reclaim his lost human side and become he became uncertain about the path he had taken to become stronger right he started to question and seek answers from individuals such as Goethe Yo Ma and Yoshimura in order to understand the incidents that had happened around him since he turned into a new skipping forward a chain of events Carnegie meets he day in the sewers of the kaneki fight among you have to remember that he day is the one and only human best friend Carnegie has had and he understands him truly he day is Carnegie's anchor per se - in the real world he they admit see new Carnegie was a ghoul the whole time kaneki is shocked Carnegie at this point in the manga is so uncontrollable and he's all over the place his powers take over and make him a little crazy but he day stops that and gets through to him it's very emotional scene and so after our another chain of events he they offers to be eaten so Carnegie could regain his strength he decides to sacrifice himself so Carnegie wakes up with a sweet taste in his mouth obviously implying that kaneki ate his best friend Carnegie then fights ARIMA after all of this and he manages to damage his Queen Kay but obviously we know Artemis stabs him in the eyes twice and impale him with his Queen Kay in the back of his skull seemingly killing him so Ahriman knows that Carnegie was so uncontrollable and he did this to him while they were fighting and all of that stuff Tokyo ghoul season 3 takes place two years later following Heisei a leader of half ghouls in the CCG called Queens or queues but pretty much animate watches of Tokyo ghoul that are not going to read the 60 chapters of manga we don't know what is going to happen and we are left in confusion about the questionable character development or decisions from the plot since we don't know the in-depth exploration of what is actually going on so that's why you may be confused however the major things you need to know I've probably just stated in this video after saying all of this you will probably know know now why all Tokyo ghoul fans hate the enemy because of how poor it's been handled and the adaptation of season 1 & 2 things up for newcomers and the manga readers at the same time Tokyo ghoul could have easily reached the heights of boku no hero academia or hunter x hunter in terms of popularity worldwide and quality if it was done right I'm not saying that he hasn't already done so already but as in if everything was optimal and consistent for the anime of Tokyo ghoul it will be regarded and positive attributes and attitude that everyone raves about but whenever you mentioned the Tokyo anime and people mentioned negative things how even the creator of Tokyo ghoul himself Tsui Ishida remarks how disappointed he is the adaptation in some interviews of.
